- the race will start at 19:30 by the toilet block / cafe. Runners will be placed in pens before the race so that faster runners are at the front and slower runners to the rear. This helps ensure a safe start.

- on grass by tennis hut.

Race Number - Please ensure that you secure your race number to the front of your running vest. All competitors must complete the Information Important Runner on the back of the race number. If you have a medical condition which will need consideration should you be taken ill, please mark the front of your number with a black cross. If you feel unwell before the race, or have not been well for a few days prior to the event, please do not start, remember there is always another year. Race numbers must not be passed on to another runner - this will lead to disqualification.

Chip Timing -  Service provided by The Race Organiser. Two times are recorded. The first is the Gun Time. It’s the official race time and is the time that the runner takes to complete the course from the time the gun was fired. The second is the Chip Time. This records the time that the runner actually takes from crossing the start line to crossing the finish line. The difference between the two times is the time elapsed from when the Starting signal sounds and the runner crosses the start line.

As far as the rules of athletics are concerned the Gun Time is the important time, and this is what the results and prizes are based on. The chip time though is important for the individual runner in assessing their performance in the race.

– two laps of park with approx 400 metres outside the park (twice). Tarmac paths and pavement Water station at half way. On the park paths, the full width can be used but some sections will have runners going in both directions, so please obey marshals' instructions.

The route runs on public roads. Outside the park, keep to the left of the pavement during the race. Take care when overtaking and make way for faster runners and beware of cars reversing out of drives. If you need to stop or walk for any reason, please move to the side of the course, so as not to impede other runners. Instructions issued by the Race Marshals, who will be wearing fluorescent yellow bibs, MUST be obeyed. They will advise you of any hazards.

No dogs, accompanying vehicles or cycles are allowed on the course (with the exception of the organisers lead bike).

Headphones -
In line with UK race rules the wearing of headphones is forbidden during the race, as these may prevent you from hearing instructions from Marshals. If runners choose to ignore this advice they do so at their own risk and will be disqualified - race result removed.

Any runner not complying with these rules is liable to disqualification.  This advice is for your own safety and that of other road users. Without your co-operation it is not possible to hold a race on public roads
